Dr Alison Bleaney is a distinguished medical professional and environmental health advocate. She has served as a rural general practitioner in the St Helens community of Tasmania for over two decades. Dr Bleaney is well known for her commitment to public health, particularly her work investigating the impact of pesticides and other contaminants on water quality.

She has contributed to several publications on environmental health and has played a significant role in raising awareness of potential risks in Tasmanian water catchments. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, she was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
