General Practitioner

Profile

Dr Yi Ling Lee completed her Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours, First Class) in Malaysia before relocating to Australia, where she graduated with her medical degree from the University of Queensland, Brisbane in 2010.

Following graduation, Dr Lee undertook hospital-based training in Mackay over a few years, gaining broad clinical experience across multiple departments including paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, emergency medicine, rural medicine, rehabilitation, surgery, and radiology.

Recognising the growing burden of chronic disease in Australia’s ageing population, Dr Lee transitioned into general practice in 2013 with a focus on chronic disease prevention and management. She was awarded her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2015.

Dr Lee worked in Townsville from 2014 to 2016, before serving the Magnetic Island community from 2017 to 2020, during which time she was the island’s sole female general practitioner. She has since returned to Townsville and continues to practice at Mount Louisa Medical Centre as one of our regular general practitioners.

Dr Lee holds a particular clinical interest in skin cancer medicine, chronic disease prevention and management, women’s health, and children’s health.
